We had purchased and planned to open The Knockerdown Inn ('C&M: The Knock') near Ashbourne, Derbyshire as a Caffeine&Machine location. Our original planning application was sadly rejected by Derbyshire Dales District Council in December 2022. Following this, we decided to reopen the Knockerdown as a family-friendly country pub offering food, drink and camping for tourists and locals alike.
We ran the Knockerdown throughout spring, summer and autumn 2023 while working on a revised planning application that would allow us to make the changes we felt were needed to operate it as a C&M. This application was also unfortunately rejected.
On 1 November 2023, we sold the Knockerdown Inn to a local company, who will continue to operate it as a country pub. Sadly, it won't be becoming a Caffeine&Machine venue, and we wish its new owners the very best. For more information, see here.
